Delete your account and data

You can permanently delete your ImpNotes account and everything stored with it. There are two routes: from inside the app, which is immediate, or by email if you no longer have the app installed.

Deletion is permanent. Your notes cannot be recovered afterwards. If you want to keep anything, copy it out of the app before you start.

Option 1 — delete it in the app (recommended)

  1. Open ImpNotes and make sure you are signed in with the account you want to remove.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner of the home screen.
  3. Choose “Delete Account & Data” at the bottom of the profile sheet.
  4. Confirm with “Delete forever”. Your account and data are erased straight away and you are returned to the sign-in screen.

Option 2 — ask us by email

Send a message to welldayreview@gmail.com from the Google account you signed in with, using the subject “ImpNotes account deletion request”. We verify that the request comes from the account holder, delete the account, and confirm by reply within 7 days.

What gets deleted

  • Your ImpNotes account (the Firebase Authentication record).
  • Your name, email address and profile picture held by the app.
  • Every note synced to the cloud — titles, body text, tags, checklist items, colours, pinned and archived state, and anything still in Trash.
  • The copy of your notes and preferences cached on the device you delete from.
  • The app's access to your Google Account, which is revoked at the same time.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Nothing is kept in live systems. Deletion happens immediately, not on a schedule.
  • Encrypted backups held by our infrastructure provider are rotated and overwritten within 30 days. They are not accessible to us for normal use.
  • Support correspondence — if you emailed us, that message thread is retained for up to 12 months so we have a record of the request, then deleted.
  • Notes stored only on your device in guest mode are never sent to us; uninstalling the app removes them.

If you only want to stop syncing

You do not have to delete your account. Signing out from the profile sheet stops all cloud syncing and leaves your notes on the device, where you can carry on using ImpNotes offline.
